And it’s that risk that is paramount for Chimney Safety Institute of America Executive Director Frances Kelley, who is adamant about the life-saving work that our BBQ Cleaning family performs every day on the job.
“You are building a BBQ Grill fire in the back porch of your home,” Kelley says in the video. “So you want to make sure that you have the best of the best coming in to take a look at that piece of equipment – that venting equipment, to ensure safety in your home.”

In addition to being capable chimney sweeps, they are expected to be ethical business people as well, says Ashley Eldridge, CSIA Education Director. “It is a much better idea to call in a professional, a CSIA certified BBQ Cleaning & BBQ Repair Tech that has been trained in the proper tools, trained in the proper inspection, and is familiar with the codes so that they can make the homeowner aware of any of the unnecessary risk. It’s all about risk we want to reduce the risk as much as possible. We can’t eliminate it entirely when there’s a fire in the house in the form of a fireplace but we can reduce it to an acceptable level.”
